The FJ40 and I made it home! Drove home from school to find the FJ was in driving condition! And then saw this on my way home with the FJ... Toyota>Hummer...

Please tell me that that hasn’t been defiled with a Chevy small block?

Brb, moving in with you.

That is a FANTASTIC green.

Thank you! There were actually 3 different greens for the ‘75 Land Cruiser and this tends to be my favorite.

This one has... The previous owner(my dad bought it in ‘86 or so) blew it up after commuting 2 hours a day from Central to Southern California and was the one to do it. Good news though! The plan as of right now is to completely restore the hardtop/body AND put a 2UZ-FE in it!!!!

Guest room is the windows in the top right haha. The area we live in is an interesting one though... We have the 2nd smallest house in our neighborhood at 3200 Square feet. It means the cars around here tend to be reaallyy nice.

Good. Keep Toyota engines in Toyotas. Mine desperately needs a UZ in its bay. Though it does have a Toyota engine now, it’s just a dog.

I’m assuming it’s a 4Runner?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 18:41 |

Yup, love it dearly, but it’s slowwwwwww. And it keeps getting worse. Still, if weren’t for the front end issues, I’d drive it cross country right now... Since gas is cheap.

What year?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 18:46 |

‘95. Last year for the 3.slow. The A340 just makes it worse. Still, even worn slap out, it drives better than any truck I test drove before I got it, and I guarantee they wouldn’t put up with the shit the Slowrunner has. A little 4Runner shouldn’t be pulling F-150s out of a river, while being in the water. It’s got grunt where it counts.

You can’t kill a 80's/90's Toyota. My LS400 has 295k on it.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 18:51 |
|
You can kill the trans speed sensor, because I have no clue how many miles mine has... I would guess around 190k... On it’s third set of gaskets. Luckily this last time it was done right, so it should be good for a while. Especially since it’s about to be retired from DD duty.

Yeah my dad has always said that engine was/is not the best but for Toyota not the best is relative. For anything else it’s still fantastic.

If replacing gaskets a little more often that normal is all that goes wrong, I can live with that.

You could be replacing the $1000 bolts in the engine of your 2008 Mercedes S63 AMG *cough cough*

Did I just turn you into a Land Cruiser fan?

Soon enough I will have a Ford, luckily it comes with a warranty.

Which one?
![]() 03/24/2016 at 19:18 |

I always respected them, but now I want one. Yours is modded really nicely, exactly how i’d do it.

Oppo’s (understandable) favorite, Fiesta ST. I’ve driven the 86 twins, and they just don’t feel as complete as the Fiesta. So I have to betray both Subaru and Toyota.

Pshhh get a 4Runner
![]() 03/24/2016 at 19:24 |

haha this one has been a project of the last 20 years... There are a lot of better examples. When we get this thing restored and put a 2uz-fe in it though.. That’s when it will be worth wanting.

Believe me, I have listed after used current gen, pre-facelift Trails, but I don’t need two. Plus, I NEED a corner carver, that is also okay on fuel.

Sorry, saw the street name so being nosy. Nashville?

Speed gets me in trouble... Got a ticket in a Sequoia last week. Ironically 2/3 tickets have been in Sequoias. Only one in my LS which I drive a lot more and is quite faster.

Yep!

Honestly, I don't even care if it has a Chevy motor in it (as long as it's reliable). I'd probably never take it seriously offroading if it were mine, just looks like a kickass toy.

Haha. Home of Vandy, yet you have a Vols flag. I love it. I live in MS but am a fellow Vols fan. Rocky top!

I’ve only been pulled over in slow vehicles.

It is a lot of fun when we have I running/trail ready and when I’m home. I’m working on finding myself a GX470 to build out for myself since this FJ40 is my dads.

I am a student at The University of Tennessee. The Tennessee fans/alumnus far outnumber the Vandy fans/alumnus in Nashville anyways. Vandy doesn’t even have a hold on its own city.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 19:41 |

Awesome. That’s pretty funny actually. I just assumed with Vandy being there most everybody would pull for them. I’ve only been to Nashville a few times but I do like it there. Please tell me you’ve been to Lane Motor Museum. May not be your thing as far as cars go, but it has a very interesting collection.
![]() 03/24/2016 at 19:43 |

I love Lane. It’s been way too long since I have been out there. The LARC is one of my favorites...

Nice. It’s been a little over three years since I went. Wife and I are planning to take a trip up there this summer so she can see the place.
That thing is unreal. The video they have showing it driving through town to get to the museum is crazy.

Those ar tanks, I have a friend who drives his parents old GX with over 200k on it like its nothing.

The plan is to make it basically a North American Prado.. But one with a V8 and heated seats.. I’ll have the snorkel, front/rear bumper, 35" tires, safari rack, everything.

I like it as well. It is more of a “tropical” green, if anything!

Toyota had a myriad of colors. Actually 7 greens! I think my dads is (Rustic) green or deep green. I knew exactly at one point.
